1. Is convenient parking available?

Yes, there is a free 2-hour shopper’s parking lot behind the salon and another across the street. There are meters on Park Avenue and the side streets with free parking after 6pm every day. We also provide complimentary valet service on Fridays and Saturdays.
2. What forms of payment are accepted?
Cash and checks are accepted. Sorry, we do not accept credit or debit cards. However, we do have an ATM located inside the salon.
3. Do you offer specials for new clients?
Yes, we offer 25% off for all new clients and for existing clients that are trying a new service. Some exceptions do apply so be sure to ask when booking your appointment.
4. What brand of color products is used?
We use only Goldwell color products. Hair Machine Salon is the #1 Goldwell Salon in the country. The products range from semi-permanent to permanent color depending on what results you desire.
5. If I am pregnant can I still get my hair colored?
You definitely can! Goldwell offers a safe ammonia free color line to help transform your hair even when you are pregnant.
6. How long does a keratin treatment last?
Generally keratin treatments last for 2-3 months depending upon your normal hair care routine. Such as, what products you are using and how often you wash your hair.
7. What type of shampoo should I use after a keratin treatment?
Keratin treated hair requires a sulfate free shampoo in order to preserve the integrity for as long as possible. Any type of conditioner can be used depending on your hair type.
8. What hair care and styling products do you sell?
We sell Goldwell hair care and styling products as well as KMS hair care and styling products. Each product delivers a unique result and your selection should be based on what your desired results are and what is right for your particular hair type. Our talented staff will be happy to educate and advise you further with your selection.
9. What special services do you offer bridal parties?
Our staff is highly trained with master expertise in this particular service. Many have trained under world famous Sharon Blain and her team of up-do and formal style specialists. When bridal parties come to Hair Machine Salon they are greeted like Royalty with complimentary bagels, sweets, and mimosas to start the day off right. You will be extremely impressed by our creative stylists and our fabulous make-up artists. All your (perfect hair) dreams will come true on this very special day. 10. Do you offer make-up services?
Yes we do. Makeup is offered to fully complete your look. Our artists are all trained in airbrush technique as well as temporary eyelashes. We have a huge selection of all the latest colors and shades for you to choose from.
11. Do you offer hair extension installation and removal services?
Yes we do. Several of our staff members are certified in Great Lengths extensions. They would be happy to give a free consultation in order to determine what length and color would be the best for the look you want. They will also inform you how many bundles you will need to get the best results.
12. Where are you located?
Hair Machine Salon is located at 40 South Park Avenue in Rockville Centre. Between Merrick Road and Lincoln Avenue. We are 3 short blocks south of the LIRR Rockville Centre Station.
13. Can I make an appointment on-line if the salon is closed?
Yes you can. Our clients have access to our appointment booking system online. In order to book your appointment online you must provide your email to the front desk at the salon. Once registered, you will have your own account and password and be able to book your appointment at your convenience.
14. Do you welcome walk in clients?
We accommodate walk in clients to the best of our ability. If you have a regular stylist or colorist, we do highly recommend making an appointment to insure that you can be seen at the desired time.
15. How long has Hair Machine Salon been in business?
Hair Machine Salon has been styling Long Island with beautiful hair since 1929. We recently completed a full renovation and remodel of the Salon making us the newest most comfortable up-to-date and beautiful Salon in the area. We pride ourselves on our longevity. Hey, we must be doing something right!!
16. Should I expect an appointment confirmation?
Yes, if you provide the front desk with your email we will send you automatic email reminders before the day of your appointment.
17. What are the benefits of getting a glaze after my color service?
A glaze can be used to achieve subtle variations. It can add shine and condition the hair. It can also change the tone in order to enhance the color make it richer and bring it to the next level.
